Full time/40 hours per week; M-F 6:30am-3:00pm (6/16/25 to 8/22/25)
Summer
The School District of Whitefish Bay has openings for seasonal (summer) full-time Summer Workers - Grounds employees. This is a seasonal, summer-only, first shift, hourly position from 6/16/25 through 8/22/25.
The work hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 am - 3:00 pm.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Remove trash and debris from public areas by regularly inspecting grounds, drains, manhole covers, etc., for debris; raking, sweeping and bagging leaves, debris, dirt and trash from grounds (ie. playgrounds, grass areas, sidewalks, parking
lots) and transporting the trash to designated collection points on a daily basis
- Empty, clean, and disinfect trash receptacles on a regular basis
- Perform regular and directed grounds and landscape maintenance by mowing lawns with riding or push mowers; trimming and edging around trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers, sidewalks and buildings; weeding, thinning and cleaning
flower beds and other grounds by hand or utilizing proper tools and equipment
- Safely operates light vehicles such as pick-up trucks, riding mowers and portable power tools and equipment such as grass trimmers, leaf blowers, paint machines and other grounds-keeping equipment by obeying applicable traffic laws and
following operator instructions, and wearing appropriate safety items such as goggles, gloves, or other appropriate protective clothing
- Prepare seasonal athletic setups, and one-time activity and event setups at outdoor locations for use by students, visitors, and the public as needed by district operations and, if applicable, painting and marking athletic fields, moving
bleachers and seating, and erecting portable goals or other athletic equipment
- Maintain grounds/maintenance garage and all associated vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion; perform routine cleaning of vehicles, tools, equipment and machines within reasonable capabilities
- Perform delivery services
- Perform other related duties as assigned
