CERTIFICATION
· Certified by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a Broad Field Social Studies Teacher (#1701) for Early Adolescence through Adolescence (Grades 6-12) or as a Social Studies Teacher (#2700) for Middle and High School (Grades 4-12) preferred.
· In lieu of #2700, additional Social Studies discrete area licensure may be required (i.e., History).
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies, History, Political Science, or a related field.

Valid Wisconsin teaching license in Social Studies (or ability to obtain prior to employment).

Strong knowledge of U.S. and world history, government, economics, geography, and other social sciences.

Ability to create engaging, student-centered lessons that align with state and national standards.

Excellent classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.

Experience integrating technology into instruction to enhance learning.

Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Ability to work collaboratively in a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to support student learning and instructional improvement.
Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in Social Studies courses.

Develop and implement assessments to measure student growth and understanding.

Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Utilize technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement.

Collaborate with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to analyze student data, share best practices, and improve instruction.

Foster a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, inquiry, and civic engagement.

Participate in professional development and contribute to curriculum development.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders.

Support school-wide initiatives and contribute to a positive school culture.
