The Cedarburg School District seeks an intrinsically motivated and dependable individual with excellent communication, clerical and organizational skills to manage the Thorson Elementary School Office. Candidates must possess a tireless work ethic, sense of humor, and passion for helping students while having great attention to detail. Primary responsibilities include all typical office operations, including, but not limited to:
- processes and maintains accurate records;
- communicates and cooperates pleasantly with parents, students, visitors and staff to foster a positive public image;
- addresses questions and complaints effectively and efficiently and directs individuals appropriately;
- prepares letters, memos, bulletins, reports, etc., as directed, within timelines;
- assembles and updates materials for distribution and presentations;
- maintains confidentiality relating to student records and personnel matters;
- makes routine decisions regarding office personnel and functions;
- monitors student behavior while in the office;
- operates office equipment including but not limited to copiers, personal computers, calculators and telephone consoles;
- assist students in the health room;
- effectively and efficiently uses word processing programs, spreadsheets and other software typically utilized in school offices.

The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma and at least 1-3 years of secretarial and administrative support experience. Previous school district experience preferred. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google environment are preferred. Candidates must have the ability to:
- operate standard office equipment including utilizing pertinent software applications;
- effectively communicate (verbally and in writing);
- add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals;
- solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists;
- interpret instructions in varied formats;
- type 55 words per minute;
- maintain strict confidentiality;
- perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board policies;
- lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
