HJT1 is a 4K-8th Grade district located in Washington and Dodge Counties; 35 miles northwest of Milwaukee, 55 miles south of Oshkosh, and 60 miles northeast of Madison. The city of Hartford is in the rolling hills of the scenic Kettle Moraine with Pike Lake State Park, Holy Hill Basilica & National Shrine and Erin Hills Golf Course minutes from the city limits. We are a community of over 16,000 with strong education, and many attractions such as the Schauer Arts Center and Recreation Center, and a variety of retail stores and restaurants. Hartford is an active community with many organizations and groups uplifting the home community feel. The HJT1 District is made up of two elementary buildings and one middle school building.
 
We are looking for the perfect candidate for a full-time Benefits & Accounting Coordinator to join our team. This position is a calendar year role and is eligible for health, vision, and dental insurance or alternative benefit plan, life insurance, long-term disability, WRS, paid holiday, vacation, personal, and sick days. The ideal candidate should be proficient and comfortable with working with benefits and accounting. Candidates should be intrinsically motivated and possess a highly positive attitude with an exceptional work ethic and a great sense of humor. The ideal candidate will:
  • Hold an Associate or Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills to motivate and empower teams
  • Build positive and collaborative relationships with staff, community members, government, and other outside agencies in a fast-paced office environment
  • Have the ability to work in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner within a rapidly changing environment
  • Have knowledge of the health insurance industry, policies, and procedures
  • Be able to provide information and implement timely enrollment of staff into insurance/benefit plans and act as a liaison for District staff and benefit providers
  • Assist with food service reports, student fees and various other accounts receivable
  • Possess flexibility to work in a constantly changing environment and to adapt to the varying needs of a growing school district
  • Have strong knowledge of accounting processes and procedures
  • Handle accounts payable, including preparation, coding, certifying accuracy of purchase orders, and disbursing checks as needed
  • Be committed to continous improvement and best practices to create a positive environment
  • Be highly detail-oriented, efficient, and timely in meeting deadlines
  • Be a team-player who can work both independently and collaboratively with strong problem-solving skills
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
