Description:
Assists in a variety of job functions in preparing, cooking, and serving food in a high volume, high-speed food production cafeteria.
Job Goals:
To work, effectively and efficiently, as a team and an individual to carry out the responsibilities outlined below.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain standards of sanitation and safety.
-
Set up, serving and portioning of food items.
-
Operating dishwashers, food dispensers, and other kitchen equipment.
-
Preparation, slicing, and set up of food items and materials for meal service.
-
Prepare food as determined by menu planner, following standardized recipes and preparation methods to deliver consistent, high quality meals.
-
Cleaning and sanitation of food areas, dispensers, and equipment.
-
Storage of and rotation of food items.
-
Assisting in food production reports, ordering, and other related reports/counts.
-
Use and operation of computers and point of sale.
-
Read, understand, and follow safety procedures.
-
Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and the general public.
-
Attend training classes and workshops.
-
Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Has responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of kitchen employees in accordance with School District policies and applicable laws.
-
Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

All production records for all served meals.

Has knowledge and understanding of USDA Child Nutrition Program regulations.

Must be able to bend and lift from floor to shoulder up to 40 pounds

Customer relation skills in dealing appropriately with and interacting with children and staff.

Must be able to stand for several hours.

Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to communicate well with others.
