Part Time
Parkview School District is seeking a part-time (9:00 a.m. - 1:00 a.m.) Assistant in the Food Services Department. Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Inspects food items, work areas, etc. (e.g. personal hygiene, proper equipment temperatures, proper food temperatures, etc.) for the purpose of preventing cross contamination and/or food borne illness.
• Prepare breakfast food items for students.
• Prepare a la carte items for students, staff and guests.
• Load carts and deliver for breakfast as needed.
• Cut and/or Package food items.
• Clean utensils, equipment, storage areas, food preparation areas, food serving areas and dish room area for the purpose of maintaining sanitary conditions.
• Serve one or more food items for the purpose of meeting meal pattern requirements in the SBP and NSLP.
• Use proper body mechanics and cleaning procedures for the purpose of preventing accidental injuries to self and others.
• Complete all documentation required to be completed.
• Complete annual training as required. Attend regular Food Service meetings as well as those required by the principal and/or district.

Other Job Functions:
• Respond to inquiries of students, staff and the general public for the purpose of providing accurate information and/or directing to others.
• Assist coworkers for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
• Assist with catering as directed by the Food Service Director.
• All other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director.
• Be a community advocate for the Parkview School District, Parkview School Foodservice, SBP and NSLP.
• Be flexible, work as a district wide team. Cross training is required.

Candidate must maintain positive relationships with administration, students, staff and community.
Interested and qualified candidates should include a letter of interest, résumé and (3) references.
• Skilled in appropriate communication with coworkers, students, staff and parents. Skilled in proper food preparation as outlined in the Food Safety Plan (HACCP).
• Knowledge of basic math, understanding written and verbal procedures.
• Ability to work alone or with others in a team environment, problem solving is required. Ability to adapt to change as needed. Ability to work with computers - Email, POS systems, menu and nutrition software/production records. Ability to follow HACCP procedures and policies. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to stand and walk for 4-6 hours. Ability to bend, twist, reach, lift 30#, kneel and climb. Ability to withstand extreme hot and cold temperatures.
