JOB TITLE:                         High School Business Education and Marketing Teacher

CLASSIFICATION:  Professional Staff

JOB OBJECTIVE: This position requires a dynamic teacher with the ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide students with rigorous and high-quality learning experiences in a wide variety of Business and Marketing Education pathways.
 

REPORTS TO:  High School Administrative Team and District Administrator

CERTIFICATIONS:

• Certified by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for Business Education (#1250) and Marketing Education (#1285). 

PRIMARY DUTIES:           

 Essential Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver a comprehensive business education curriculum in the areas of Accounting I, Introduction to Marketing & Entertainment, Computer Literacy & Applications I, Entrepreneurship, and Business & Personal Law. 

• Manage the School Store (Hillmen Outlets). 

• Serve as a Business Education Teacher in support of all learners in an inclusive classroom setting.

• Monitor students’ academic progress and use data collection and analysis to guide instructional decisions.

• Collaborate with colleagues, including special education case managers and student services personnel, to provide a range of academic and social-emotional support to students in inclusive classroom settings.

• Develop positive relationships and engage in open reciprocal communication with students and families.

• The educator will provide involvement, guidance, and support for business related career pathways. 

• Supervise students at all off-campus activities such as workshops, field trips, etc., associated with related educational programs. 

• Perform other duties as directed by building administration.

• Drive to collaborate with and grow relationships with local industries, businesses, and career partnership programs with SWTC. 

• Experience teaching using differentiated instruction, cooperative learning, simulations, technology, hands-on learning activities, and authentic assessment.

• Experience working in student-centered teams collaboratively with colleagues in professional learning communities.

• Interest or experience in advising/coaching/co-curricular activities.

• Supervising and maintaining the school store.

• Prepares and maintains a budget and selects and completes requisitions for instructional materials and the operation of the school store.

• Hat press

• Cricut machines
