JOB TITLE:                      High School Band Teacher

 

CLASSIFICATION:  Professional Staff

 

JOB OBJECTIVE: This position requires a dynamic teacher with the ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide students with rigorous and high-quality learning experiences in a wide variety of Band and Music areas, as well as lead the Platteville High School Marching Band 

 

REPORTS TO:  High School Administrative Team and District Administrator

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:           

 

 

 Essential Role Responsibilities:

Deliver a comprehensive Band and Music curriculum and performance-based learning.

Serve as a Band Teacher in support of all learners in an inclusive classroom setting.

Monitor students’ academic progress and use data collection and analysis to guide instructional decisions.

Collaborate with colleagues, including special education case managers and student services personnel, to provide a range of academic and social-emotional support to students in inclusive classroom settings.

Develop positive relationships and engage in open reciprocal communication with students and families.

The educator will lead the High School Marching Band and provide involvement, guidance, and support for the Middle School Marching Band program.

Perform other duties as directed by building administration.

Drive to collaborate with and grow relationships with the Middle School programs.

Experience working in student-centered teams collaboratively with colleagues in professional learning communities.

Interest or experience in advising/coaching/co-curricular activities.

Supervising and maintaining instrumental usage and maintenance.

Prepares and maintains a budget and selects and completes requisitions for band and music materials.
