Oconto High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Track Coach to support our high school track and field program. This role will work closely with the head coach to develop student-athletes, foster a positive team culture, and contribute to the program's overall success.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices, meets, and training sessions.
- Provide instruction in various track and field events.
- Motivate and mentor student-athletes to develop their skills, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all athletes.
- Support athletes in setting and achieving their performance goals.
- Monitor and enforce team rules, academic standards, and school policies.
- Travel with the team to competitions and assist in meet-day logistics.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Prior coaching experience and/or participation in track and field.
- Knowledge of training techniques, conditioning, and injury prevention.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, student-athletes, and school personnel.
