Notre Dame School of Milwaukee (NDSM) is a Catholic School founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Milwaukee, WI. The school was founded in 1996 as Notre Dame Middle School, an all girls 5th-8th grade middle school to serve Latinas on the southside of Milwaukee. Today Notre Dame School of Milwaukee is a Grade K3-8 Catholic school sponsored by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. It has a co-education primary school serving boys and girls in a Spanish and English dual language model. NDSM addresses the urgent, critical needs of the community through student-focused education. We currently serve over 690 students across three campuses and we have both an all-boys and all-girls middle school, a co-ed primary school, and an Early Childhood Education program. Position Overview: The STEM teacher/coordinator oversees the STEM program at the boys' and girls' middle school campuses and all its duties, including teaching STEM at the middle schools and leading an after-school STEM/Robotics Club. The STEM Director is evaluated by the Middle School Principal.

Education/Experience:

Current Wisconsin Teacher’s License
-
Teaching experience in STEM/Robotics
-
Deep understanding of NGSS
-
Experience in coaching student teams in STEM/Robotic competitions
-
Experience in Project Lead the Way curriculum and resources
Responsibilities:
-
Teach middle school STEM programming as an elective during the school day
-
Plan and run middle school STEM after-school program
-
Oversee and manage STEM/Project Lead the Way budget/materials
-
Develop and oversee STEM/Project Lead the Way curriculum implementation
-
Organize, develop, and coordinate STEM events/activities
-
Organize, oversee, and attend STEM/robotics student competitions and fairs
-
Collaborate with NDSM middle school teachers on how to integrate robotics and STEM concepts across disciplines
-
Attend events or meetings to share STEM updates with stakeholders (Open House, recruitment events, board meetings)
-
Actively participate in local STEM education forums and foster relationships within the local community

Attend professional development and training related to STEM programs/Project Lead the Way
-
Stay current with advancements in robotics technology, STEM, and educational best practices
Cultivates an atmosphere conducive to learning
