Position Details
Whitnall School District is committed to ensuring that all students develop strong literacy skills to support their academic success. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Reading Interventionist to provide targeted reading instruction to small groups of students in need of additional support. This position routinely meets with students in a small group setting and is responsible for implementing specific programs with fidelity. Specific training in these programs will be provided.
The Reading Interventionist will work closely with classroom teachers, literacy coaches, and school administrators to implement research-based reading interventions for elementary students. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of foundational reading skills, data-driven instruction, and strategies for supporting diverse learners. This is a limited term position ending on June 11, 2025. This position will be from 9:30 AM-2:30 PM daily.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide small-group reading intervention to students who require additional support.

Use data from assessments to plan and adjust instruction based on student needs.

Collaborate with school leaders to align intervention strategies with core instruction.
- Monitor stutdent progress and maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.

Communicate regularly with familes and staff regarding student growth and instructional strategies.

Bachelor’s degree

Valid teaching certification strongly preferred (Reading 316 license preferred, but not required).

Experience working with middle school students in literacy instruction.
- Knowledge of evidence-based reading interventions and structured literacy approaches.
