Position Details
We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to serve as the Middle School Football Coach for our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, an understanding of football fundamentals, and a commitment to the physical and emotional development of young athletes. The coach will work closely with student-athletes, assistant coaches, and school staff to create a positive, encouraging, and competitive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and lead daily practices that focus on the development of fundamental football skills.
- Promote teamwork, good sportsmanship, and a positive attitude both on and off the field.
- Coach athletes during games, ensuring they understand strategies and positions.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff members.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for student-athletes to grow and develop.
- Ensure all athletes adhere to safety guidelines and school policies.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
- Work with the Varsity Football Coach on play calling and game strategies
- Attend and support school events and activities when applicable.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience coaching or playing football
- Knowledge of football rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Ability to inspire and motivate middle school athletes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, school staff, and parents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience coaching youth or middle school football

Reports to and Evaluated by: Athletic Director
Job Goal: To provide leadership and support in the development of student athletes while educating about the rules, strategies and skills for the identified sport/activity in a positive environment.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Athletic Director in providing leadership and direction to the sports program, as it exists in grades (6) 7 - 8.
2. Have current first aid training and be knowledgeable to cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques.
3. Present self as model for athletes in terms of exemplary appearance, character, and sportsmanship.
4. Perform the duties of the head coach
5. Perform and assist in all duties assigned to and by athletic director
6. Communicate with the athletic director concerning any facet of the sports program.
7. Make a persistent effort to keep current as to the appropriate coaching methodologies.
8. Assist the athletic director with the inventory and selection of new supplies and equipment.
9. Issue and collect uniforms and equipment.
10. Carry out other duties and responsibilities as determined by the athletic director.
