Candidates must be comfortable working daily with children who demonstrate academic, intellectual, and behavioral challenges. Assist special education students in class or hallway, during lunch/recess, bus loading, field trips, and/or leisure activities as needed. Assist with processes and procedures including but not limited to emergency procedures, building orientation, data collection, and classroom management. Assist students in academic areas such as reading, writing, or math. Implement curriculum, adapt instructional materials/strategies, and collect data on academic progress under the direction of a licensed teacher. Support licensed teachers in the implementation of a variety of behavioral management techniques as needed and collect data on progress in this area. Supporting students with functional needs (self-care, mobility, etc.) as needed. Maintain a high level of fairness, confidentiality, boundaries, respect, and equity for all students, staff, and families. Perform other duties as assigned.

Applicants must have an Associate Degree or have completed 2 years post-secondary education or meet a rigorous standard of knowledge in reading, writing, and math by taking and passing an assessment prescribed by Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
