BHS School Counselor

The Burlington Area School District is seeking an enthusiastic Counselor to join our high school team! Burlington High School follows a professional learning communities model and the individual in this role will have the opportunity to work with a team of fantastic buildings leaders, teachers, and students. The ideal candidate has experience working with children grades 9-12, has school counseling experience, and would consider themselves a true team player.

Job Summary
Under the direction of the director of pupil services, school counselors create and deliver counseling programs with the goal of improving student outcomes. They guide, collaborate, and advocate to promote equity and access for all students by connecting Burlington Area School District’s counseling program to the school’s academic mission to provide appropriate educational programs and learning environments which will effectively meet the educational needs of its students and citizens; and help its students accomplish educational goals which are significant, enduring, and transferable.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Valid license as established by Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction

Experience working with youth in an educational setting

Knowledge of relevant technology

Preferred but not required: Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply, conflict resolution experience
