Whitewater High School seeks a summer school Physical Education Teacher (PE Survey). Summer school runs 8:00am- 12:15pm Monday-Thursday from June 9th- July 3rd. Staff are paid $26/hour and will be provided paid instructional planning (prep) time daily.
The PE Survey course is the first experience of high school PE and we expect each student to work hard each day while enhancing their health and fitness. We will build the students' knowledge of health and fitness as well as continue to teach each student new ways to challenge their skills. Activities may include but are not limited to, disc golf, tennis, speedball, basketball, weight training, and other physical activities.
Candidates must demonstrate:
Familiarity with state standards in all relevant subject area disciplines;
Creativity, enthusiasm and a high degree of energy;
Understand the use of technologies that can personalize learning for students and enhance critical thinking (i.e. Chromebooks, Google Apps);
The ability to provide a safe, positive and engaging learning environment for students;
A positive approach to problem-solving, collaboration, teamwork, and respect
Preference will be given to candidates who are multilingual and have experience working with diverse student populations
