Position Summary: The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for working closely with the Director of Maintenance in overseeing daily building operations and maintenance functions related to the interior and exterior conditions and appearance of the property. The Engineer should possess a broad base of technical knowledge, exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and place great importance to the safety of SJCA’s faculty, staff, and students.
Primary Responsibilities:
*Inform the Director of Maintenance of any potential problems including physical building deterioration, unmet governmental requirements, security issues, or other matters that involve the overall welfare of the buildings.
* Install and/or repair classroom and office equipment as well as system and facility components, such as lighting, ventilation, alarms, and plumbing.
* Coordinate with skilled tradesmen and/or assigned supervisor(s) for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently; serve as a liaison with outside vendors and contractors.
* Assist in the management of building security.
* Schedule, oversee, and maintain records of repair service calls and regular preventative maintenance.
* Inspect all work areas regularly to ensure that no safety hazards exist.
* Respond to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
* Facilitate furniture and equipment setup for special events and activities.
* Order cleaning and maintenance supplies as needed.
* Complete 2 hour asbestos awareness class annually.
* Perform additional program duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.

* 2+ years maintenance experience
* Experience in personnel management preferred
* WI Boiler’s license or willingness to obtain it
* Knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of pneumatic systems
* Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
* Ability to perform the position’s physical requirements
