The School District of West Salem is right next door to La Crosse in the beautiful Coulee Region of Western Wisconsin. Our 3 buildings are within walking distance of each other on an approximate 100-acre campus on the edge of town. Students in grades K-12 are issued MacBooks or iPads as part of its 1:1 digital learning environment. The School District has approximately 1800 students within its three buildings. Our district has a 4K-4 elementary school, 5-8 middle school and a 9-12 high school.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
A. Serve as the receptionist and telephone operator for the district office and personnel therein.
The District Office is seeking an Administrative Assistant (12 month) with strong phone, computer and clerical skills. Exceptional customer service skills are a must.
Working knowledge of Skyward preferred.
12-month position, 7:30-4:00.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
A. Serve as the receptionist and telephone operator for the district office and personnel therein.
B. Provide excellent customer service to everyone who calls or enters the district office.
C. Complete mail stamping and deliver to the post office.
D. Maintain the Heider Meeting Room and Ertz Conference Room schedule.
E. Sort and tag packages received in the district office.
F. Keep a master list of physicals for employees that transport students.
G. Student address changes.
H. Assist with open enrollment / new student enrollment coordination for the School District
I. AESOP/ Absence Management data entry for substitutes and staff absences. Provide support to prospective and current substitutes and assure licensure records are up-to-date. Maintain sub exclusion reports and weekly sub rates.
J. Collect area census data for submission of School Census report to DPI to be used in determining District’s Common School Funding/Library Aid.
K. As a representative of the school district deal with the public and all district employees in a courteous and professional manner.
L. Be knowledgeable of and carry out the West Salem School District policies.
M. Work with Human Resources for data entry employees and benefits.
N. Process all employee and volunteer background checks/reconcile the invoices.
O. Donation list and thank you letters for the Board.
P. Outdoor Education Center permits/waivers.
Q. Monitor van usage and reconcile transportation invoice.
R. Count building deposits.
S. Prepare and process private school parent contracts.
T. Building and Grounds budget - record of invoices, requisitions and PO's within Skyward.
U. Building and Grounds schedule.
V. Building and Grounds assets and work order system for facility use.
W. Perform all other duties as the superintendent may determine.
