The Verona Area School District is seeking 2025 elementary (K-5) summer school teachers applicants. The Verona Area Summer School programming runs from June 23 - July 3 and July 7 - July 18. There is a professional learning day in May (TBD) and one on June 18th. Sugar Creek Elementary School will host all of the elementary (K-5) courses. This summer, we are going to enroll students by the grade they are going into in the 2025-2026 school year. DPI Licensure: Appropriate certification required Classes will run from 8am-12pm each day, starting with a literacy block using district provided resources and then transitioning into enrichment. All summer school teachers (in person, blended, and online classes) will be expected to be at school from 7:30am-12:30pm each day of the session(s) they are teaching. Teachers will be paid for a total of 6 hrs/day. 4 hours of teaching, 1 hour of planning/preparation, and 1 hour of family contact time. As part of the application, you will be asked the grade level of your course proposal and to write a short description of the course you would be able to offer. The final determination of employment will be after course registration and having enough students sign up for the class.
