The Green Bay Area Public Schools is seeking a Monitor candidate for the 2024-2025 year to provide a safe and secure place for education at West High School. 

Essential Functions:

2. Promotes efforts on diversity, establishes best practices and utilizes skills to remove barriers for students of diverse backgrounds.

5. Refers confidential information to Building Administrators.
6. Follows safe practices and adheres to safety standards.
7. Provides front line customer services including welcoming and directing visitors to appropriate areas along with issuing visitor badges.
8. Serves as a resource to visitors entering the building.
9. Informs visitors of the District’s building access policy, which in part, requires visitors to sign in.
10. Performs duties with patience, tact, good judgment and within established guidelines.
11. Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationship with others.
12. Communicates professionally with schools staff, students, parents and visitors.
13. Supervises students in unstructured situations.
14. Establishes a rapport with students in order to provide an atmosphere that is safe and conducive to the proper functioning of the school.
15. Communicates with administrative staff concerning student behavior or attitude that reflects a need for special concern.
16. Patrols and monitors school facilities (interior and exterior) to maintain order and security.
17. Monitors video surveillance cameras and reviews or releases recordings upon the Building Principal’s direction.
18. Enforces school district rules, regulations and policies for the safety and security of students, staff, visitors and property in accordance to established procedures.
19. Monitors and reports maintenance, graffiti, and safety hazards.
20. Monitors vehicular traffic on and around schools and reports concerns as necessary.
21. Questions unauthorized persons on or around school premises.
22. Observes situations and accurately determines an effective course of action.
23. Works closely with building principals, monitors, school resource officers and police department.
24. Assists building administration with student conflict situations as required.
25. Writes daily summary reports along with detailed student behavior and incident reports as necessary.
26. Reports illegal acts/incidents, any attempts of unauthorized entry and all suspicious activity immediately to the building principal.
27. Contacts law enforcement officials on as needed basis.
28. Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications Required:

Education: High School Graduate or equivalent

Experience: Knowledge of the techniques, practices and procedures necessary for the effective interaction with students, staff, and general public.

Possess a valid Driver's License in good standing.

Qualifications Desired: Education: High School Graduate Associate Degree from Accredited Institute in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement or currently enrolled in the second year of a Criminal Justice Program.

Experience: Possesses excellent decision making and problem solving skills. Demonstrates excellent public relations and
communication skills. Possesses mature, responsible decision-making, problem solving and proven judgment skills.
