Sparta Area School District is looking for a part-time or full-time licensed speech and language pathologist to work as a long-term sub from mid-January through the end of February.  

Duties of the Position:

- Evaluate student’s with suspected speech and/or language impairments
- Develop and Implement Individual Education Plans based on student’s disability-related needs
- Coordinate and participate in IEP team meetings
- Monitor students progress
- Keep accurate documentation and reporting for student progress reports and medicaid billing
- Collaborate with a variety of professionals and families

Special Skills Required: 

- Strong knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and assessment techniques
- Experience in a school-based environment
- Familiarity with the special education evaluation/IEP process
- Experience with assistive technology and augmentative communication
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships
- Promote teamwork and collaboration
- Knowledge of Medicaid billing. 

Required license Number: Must be certified or eligible to be certified for a Speech/Language Pathology License (1820)
