Position Details
The Central Office Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for the Oshkosh Area School District’s Central Office building. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere for visitors, staff, families, students, and stakeholders. The receptionist manages incoming communications, directs inquiries to appropriate departments, and ensures the efficient operation of the front desk. This role is critical in fostering positive interactions and ensuring smooth daily operations at the Central Office of the Oshkosh Area School District.
Essential Functions:
1. Serve as receptionist for central administration.
2. Greet and assist visitors, students, parents, and staff, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
3. Respond to inquiries and provide general information about district services and policies.
4. Monitor visitor access and maintain security protocols in accordance with district guidelines.
5. Create and distribute correspondence, reports, and manuals, leveraging technology.
6. Maintain schedule for reserving all conference rooms for central office
7. Maintain a high level of professional interpersonal relations and knowledge of established district procedures.
8. Maintain district confidentiality.
9. Assists the Human Resources Department as needed.
10. Assists the Student Information Systems Manager in data entry tasks.
1. Participate in the team process for continuous improvement.
2. Participate in relevant meetings and activities.
3. All other duties as assigned.
1. High school diploma or equivalent required
2. Able to interact tactfully, effectively, and courteously with staff and others encountered on the job.
3. Friendly and professional demeanor with a commitment to excellent customer service.
4. Minimum of one year of successful office or secretarial experience.
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Proficiency in office technology, including computers, phone systems, and standard software applications.
7. Able to maintain accurate and complete records.
8. Able to staff position during the hours required within the business day (excluding standard break periods).
