This candidate hired to this position will provide a wide variety of administrative support to the recreation department, with the primary responsibility of managing recreation inquiries and processing registrations. See position description below.

The Mequon-Thiensville School District is a PK-12 district located along the coast of Lake Michigan in a northern suburb of Milwaukee that serves more than 3,500 students. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - RECREATION
Required Education and Experience:
● High School Diploma
● Familiarity with Microsoft Office
● Comfortable with and interested in using various computer software
Preferred Education and Experience:
● Experience working in a recreation environment
Required Skills/Abilities:
● Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to automobile
● Effective written and oral communications skills and ability to work well with others
● Dependable and conscientious with strong work ethic
● Ability to interact positively with staff, students and parents
● Skilled at simultaneously performing multiple tasks
● Ability to make decisions in the absence of the Recreation Director
Physical requirements:
● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
● Exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular basis
● Moderate dexterity in operating machinery, tools or office equipment
● Normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and speaking abilities
Reports to:
● Recreation Director
Essential Functions:
● Serves as the direct contact for recreation inquiries and requests from prospective recreation users via phone and office visits
● Answers emails and messages on own mailbox as well as M-T Recreation mailbox
● Orders office supplies and troubleshoots problems with office software and equipment
● Schedules Recreation Director meetings
● Sets up household accounts via phone and in the office and assists with username/password retrieval
● Processes participant registrations for customers
● Assists in tracking enrollment and making decisions on program cancellations
● Informs customers when programs are cancelled and processes refunds/credits/transfers
● Maintains RecTrac data base including personal information and registrations
● Maintains RecTract data base course numbers for each season as well as Summer Academy
● Processes daily credit card reports and weekly deposits of recreation revenue
● Assists in communicating with contracted programs, coop departments and schools regarding enrollment and acquiring rosters
● Prepares purchase orders and check requests for recreation expenditures
● Secures facility space for recreation programs through rSchoolToday software
● Assists in brochure and newsletter creation and development including proofing
● Performs such other duties as may be assigned
