Position Details
● Aids the classroom teacher in analyzing data and determining students in need of specialized intervention.
● Provides intervention to individuals or groups of students in and outside of the classroom.
● Supports classroom teachers in their planning to differentiate for students of different reading levels.
● Provides initial and ongoing professional development for teachers in all aspects of literacy.
● Provides individualized coaching for K-5 teachers.
● Oversees, organizes and takes responsibility for the gathering, analyzing and reporting of data.
● Leads implementation of assessment system toward performance standards.
● Monitors, assesses and communicates to the building principal the implementation of the literacy framework in classrooms.
● Budgets, orders and guides the use of books and materials in classrooms.
● Oversees the development and use of the leveled book room.
● Coordinates site visits from university liaisons and area school districts as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
● Valid Wisconsin teaching license at elementary level
● Additional license or master’s degree in the area of reading
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, and frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk. The employee will use the hands feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 40 pounds. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
