Our district is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator who is eager to make a positive impact within our organization. People are our greatest asset and this position will play a key role in ensuring that our district culture thrives and our employees feel supported, valued and empowered. This position will work to support the overall and day-to-day operations of the Business Office with the emphasis in human resources and providing the district direct management, oversight, and/or support in key areas such as the following: staffing projections and analysis, employment contracts, salary and wage administration, monitoring and tracking of any grievances, data/records maintenance and providing support and assistance to employees for all matters related to employment.

Essential Functions:
1. Organize and operate Human Resources as the primary resource for all personnel matters such as, but not limited to the following: recruitment, retention, placement and FTE of all staffing, certification/licensing and employee benefits.
2. Maintain the employee management system and process all new hires including job postings, offers, background and reference checks, board actions, contracts, payroll paperwork and benefit enrollment.
3. Administer and process all leave requests in accordance with law and board policies as well as reviewing and processing of any unemployment compensation claims.
4. Lead and manage all personnel items going to the Finance and Personnel Committees and prepare HR items for the Board packets.
5. Administer annual contracts according to required timelines, maintain evaluation/probation schedule, issue contracts, track licensure, and verify salary schedule placement.
6. Create and maintain staff Master Agreements/Handbooks.

7. Prepare annual and bi-annual staffing reports as required by state or federal agencies, generate comparable costing reports, prepare financial proposals and attend negotiations.
8. Assist with the organization of employee fringe benefit programs in coordination with the Executive Director of Business Services.
9. Communicate to employees and other departments any Board actions to be implemented concerning HR.

District Description:
The district includes Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, two “next door” villages known as Sauk Prairie. They are located on the beautiful Wisconsin River. Thirteen towns and the village of Merrimac are also in the district. The area features rolling hills, meadows, bluffs, forests, lakes and streams. The district offers small-town, rural living with easy access to the Madison urban area (25 miles) and to the Wisconsin Dells recreation area (28 miles). The district serves 2,800 students, and comprises six learning communities with a high school of 850 students, middle school of 600 students and four elementary schools of 1,350 students.
1. Bachelor degree required preferably in Human Resources
2. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certifications preferred
3. A minimum of five (5) years of Human Resource professional experience that includes extensive employee relations consulting and advanced knowledge of recruitment, organizational development, compensation and benefits
4. Essential computer skills with spreadsheet, word processing and database experience; Skyward experience preferred
5. Above average oral and written communication skills and organizational skills
6. Ability to properly handle confidential matters, emergency situations and work in a positive manner with staff and the school community
7. Self-motivated individual who is able to complete tasks on time and work independently
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
9. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
