Part Time
The Hartland Lakeside School District is seeking to hire a Special Education Aide to work when students are present at the middle school level. The special education aide, under the direction of a special education teacher, works directly with students with disabilities to support participation in academic activities within the school community.
The interested candidate will be responsible for carrying out the educational programs developed through the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process, performing daily activities using specific material/methods and/or material modifications designed by the special education teacher and support personnel (speech, OT/PT, etc.).
Candidate must successfully:
*Work with the general or special education teacher and/or therapist to document progress towards IEP goals.
*Use a variety of technology tools to promote student access and participation in learning activities.
*Demonstrate knowledge and skills learned in district professional development opportunities geared towards special education aides.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience working with children - strong experiences dealing with student behaviors is preferred.
Proper state license is required: Special Education Program Aide - 0070. If not licensed, Certification as a Special Education Program Aide by the Department of Public Instruction must be obtain within the 1st 3 months - District will endorse and assist the chosen candidate to get their license.
