Associates/Technical degree with coursework in accounting or related field and minimal experience, or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Essential Functions
· Processes all district purchase orders.
· Audits and processes payments for all employee expense reimbursements.
· Resolves financial issues with vendors, teachers and secretaries.
· Processes payments for district purchases, tracks returns and credits, and requests refunds.
· Sets up new and existing vendors with bank account information for direct deposit and using current W9 forms to determine filing status and monitor payments for issuance of 1099's.
· Prepares 1099's for both district and school based activity accounts and reports information to state and federal governments.
· Trains new and existing employees on Skyward purchasing software and procedural updates.
· Closes out accounts payable at budget year end.
· Serves as backup to Business Office Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper.
· Manage District P-Card program.
· Assists with various secretarial duties, as needed.
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- General knowledge of department routine, banking procedures, payroll and personnel procedures and financial record keeping.
- General knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, methods, procedures and software.
- General knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment.
- General knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic.
- Ability to develop and follow detailed work procedures.
- Ability to type accurately at a reasonable rate of speed and operate general school office equipment.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software packages, hardware and peripheral equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, students, parents and the general public.
