ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Shall know food safety as described in the food safety handbook. Shall know the meal pattern, thereby able to answer all related questions when presented. Shall report on duty at the time designated by the School Nutrition Coordinator; no deviation can be made without the approval of the above. Shall work closely with the team members at the site to ensure that all meal components are ready on time for the students. Stock and discard leftovers from the salad bar at the end of the day. Change serving utensils in the salad bar between groups. Shall be required to do daily, end-of-year, and other periodical cleanup of ovens, refrigerators, freezers, drawers, cupboards, and all other related cleanup work necessary to continue the high standard of sanitation maintained by the Sheboygan Area School Nutrition Department. Shall wash and sanitize countertops, dishes, utensils, wire baskets, dollies, and other work-related equipment following instructions in the Food Safety book. Shall wash and sanitize cafeteria tables and sweep and wipe floors on an as-needed basis. Perform cashier duties on an as-needed basis. Will serve as a backup for the cook when needed. Shall perform any other duties related to work as directed by the Cook, Coordinator of Nutrition Services, or Nutrition Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Food service experience or training.
• General computer knowledge.
• Ability to work as a team member.
• Must have the ability to understand, follow, and give oral and written instructions.
• Must have the knowledge and ability to proficiently perform basic math.
• Demonstrate proficient communication skills.
• Demonstration of being reliable and dependable based on attendance.
• Ability to replenish supplies as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to work while standing for long periods.
• Knowledge of operating basic kitchen equipment.
• Ability to use Point of Service (POS) software.
• Ability to travel to other locations, as needed.
