Whitewater High School seeks a dedicated English Language Arts/Spanish teacher for 2nd semester of the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. The full time teaching assignment will be developed to fit the strengths of the chosen candidate. Applicants must be committed to continuous improvement and skilled at fostering mutually respectful relationships with students, parents, colleagues and community members.  The ideal candidate for this teaching position will be familiar with state and professional academic standards and have a firm grasp on best instructional practices.  

 

Candidates will be skilled collaborators and join a school community committed to the PLC process and living our mission for all students.  Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate successful use of assessment data to guide instruction and foster student-ownership for learning. Additional consideration will be given to candidates willing to pursue transcripted course certification(s) through our local technical college and university partnerships.

Whitewater High School has approximately 600 students and offerings similar to schools of a much larger size. The Whitewater Unified School District has elements of rural and suburban communities.  The City of Whitewater has a population of approximately 14,500. Whitewater is located in southern Wisconsin, approximately 45 miles west of Milwaukee, 45 miles east of Madison, and 100 miles northwest of Chicago. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, with an enrollment of over 10,500.
