Job Summary
Provides students, staff, and visitors alike with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, develop, work, and visit.
Provides students, staff, and visitors alike with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, develop, work, and visit.
Essential Duties
1. Provides support to the Director of Building and Grounds as needed to aid in maintaining the building’s goals and vision. 2. Reports immediately to the Director of Building and Grounds any damage to school property. 3. Unloads and/or delivers all necessary freight and related materials as needed. 4. Moves furniture and equipment as directed by the Director of Building and Grounds. 5. Prepares for various activities and events as directed by the Director of Building and Grounds. 6. Reports any safety and/or grounds concerns directly to the Director of Building and Grounds. (i.e. lawn needs, landscaping, blacktop repairs, snow removal needs, etc.) 7. Assists in snow removal and salting to maintain safe entry ways. 8. Assists in monitoring building energy consumption by turning off equipment, lights, and devices when not in use. 9. Weekly inspects building outside to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance. 10. Reports immediately to the Director of Building and Grounds if any maintenance is needed to the equipment and/or building. 11. Repairs and services equipment owned or used by the district, including but not limited to, furniture (i.e. desks, chairs, tables, etc.) and machines (i.e. floor scrubber, lawn mowers, etc.) as directed by Director of Building and Grounds. 12. Checks and monitors all mechanical equipment used inside and outside the building to ensure efficient and proper operation. 13. Assists in the operation of energy management and HVAC systems district wide. 14. Reviews custodian work orders, assigns them as appropriate, and verifies completion. 15. Maintains exterior appearance of building by picking up trash, mowing, weed eating, snowplowing, shoveling, etc. Including the maintenance and upkeep of athletic complex. 16. Keeps building and premises, including but not limited to, bathrooms, hallways, classrooms, gyms, offices, windows, floors, and walls, clean and safe at all times in accordance with administrative direction. 17. Ensures that all corridors are clean and safe for the duration of the shift.

Ability to follow safety precautions to avoid injuries of minor cuts, falls, bruises, burns and scalds. Ability to complete written forms and records. Related work experience preferred, preferably in an educational setting or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
