Starting at $18.17/hr. (Negotiable with relevant experience)
8 hrs/day M-F, 2nd shift - 2:30pm - 11:00pm (1st shift over summer available)
Full Time
Salem School District is looking for a 2nd Shift Custodial Supervisor to lead the second shift custodial/maintenance team to ensure that the building and grounds is a safe, clean, attractive and functional facility.

Responsibilities:
-Follow all safety rules and regulations.
-Direct a team of custodians in the daily cleaning of the building.
-Maintain building security by ensuring doors and windows are locked when appropriate.
-Regularly fix equipment, furniture, or other items that are in need of repair or replacement.
-Set up and takedown of before and after school facility events. 
-During periods when school is not in session, perform tasks assigned by the Director of Building and Grounds to include cleaning assignments.
-Assist in unloading, moving, and storage of supplies, furniture, and/or equipment as needed.
-Assist in snow removal as assigned.
-Perform tasks assigned to maintain an clean, safe, and esthetic grounds.
-Assist in maintaining an inventory of regularly used items.
-Participate in professional development opportunities as requested or directed by the Director of Building and Grounds.
-Operate/Respond/Assist with alarm systems in accordance with District policies and procedures.
-Perform custodial duties as assigned.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
-Ability to lift and move objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
-Ability to engage in bodily motions required to repair and maintain equipment located in confined spaces, in limited access spaces and in elevated areas.
-Ability to work safely off of a ladder to perform necessary maintenance tasks.
-Ability to perform all the functions of the position of Custodian.

Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalency
-Leadership and maintenance experience preferred 
-Aptitude for work as identified
-Ability to follow oral and written instructions
-Ability to communicate with co-workers, staff, students and all visitors to the District
-Ability to maintain a clean and neat personal appearance and work area
-Ability to operate power floor and carpet cleaning equipment
-Ability to think clearly and respond appropriately in emergency situations
-Ability to resolve conflicts with visitors or users of the building
-Demonstrate responsibility in safeguarding District property
-Possession of a valid driver's license with the ability to operate all District vehicles (required)
