Position Title: Director of Strategic Communications
Department/Location: Wauwatosa School District/Fisher Building
Job Classification: Select Employee (Exempt)
Reports to: Superintendent

Anticipated Start Date: October 28, 2024
Anticipated Hours: 40 hours per week
Anticipated Rate of Pay: Commensurate with experience

The Wauwatosa School District (WSD) is seeking candidates interested in serving as a Director of Strategic Communications.

Position Summary: The Director of Strategic Communications is primarily accountable for developing and implementing communications strategies to enhance the reputation and broad-scale awareness of the Wauwatosa School District. The position oversees multiple communications functions, including writing, editing, brand messaging, communications strategy, public relations strategy, and content delivery, including content delivered via different channels such as the web, social media, digital marketing, scientific communications, etc. The Communications Director will strategically use communications to help the District achieve its external relations goals according to WSD’s Strategic Plan. This position requires 5 years experience.
