The School District of Lodi is seeking a Business Manager who is an innovative leader with a continuous improvement mindset, committed to the District’s vision of Bright Futures Start Here.  Our Business Manager serves as a vital leader in the district and is part of the district’s administrative team and Superintendent's cabinet.  The Business Manager is responsible for the financial and business operations of the district including, but not limited to development and maintenance of the annual budget and district financial projections; management of federal grants, state fiscal reporting, and district financial accounts; supervision of HR, payroll, and accounts payable; and planning and financial analysis of district programs.   The Business Manager provides oversight of the transportation and food service contractors, the community education program, and provides direct supervision to the Director of Building and Grounds.
 
Candidates should possess Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) certification as Business Manager (5008).
 
A preferred candidate will possess the following:
  • Masters Degree
  • Wisconsin DPI License #5008
  • 3 years experience as a school administrator or equivalent experience
  • A deep understanding of school finance and the ability to develop and maintain an annual school district budget
  • Ability to lead and oversee the payroll, accounts payable, and human resources staff
  • Thorough knowledge of Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) rules and Wisconsin Uniform Financial Accounting Requirements (WUFAR)
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and technology skills
  • Experience in oversight of audits, management of leases/contracts, financial reporting procedures and insurance coverage
  • Leadership in the development and implementation of human resources initiatives including the onboarding process for new employees
  • Understanding of the facility assessment and planning process

The School District of Lodi is within easy commuting distance of Madison, Wisconsin Dells, and Portage.   Lodi is close to beautiful Lake Wisconsin, Gibraltar Rock State Natural Area, and the Ice Age Trail.  

The School District of Lodi has an enrollment of approximately 1500 students across four school buildings. We offer multiple educational options to our parents and students, including a project-based multi-age charter school, STEAM education in all buildings, and opportunities for international exchanges at the high school level. Our district takes great pride in developing well rounded students who represent our district and our community with Lodi Pride in all facets of their academic and co-curricular participation.

The School District of Lodi is currently in the midst of a 5-year strategic plan that aligns and drives the school improvement process across the district.  The School of Lodi’s Mission is: In partnership with our community, nurturing every student’s potential for growth and opportunities - socially, mentally & academically - in a safe, respectful, and an inclusive environment to create innovative problem solvers.  The next Business Manager will be an essential element to the District achieving that mission.

Our community has shown support for the district’s mission through the passage of  four operating referendums since 2009, with the most recent being a five year non-recurring referendum in the spring of 2022.
