The Wisconsin Virtual Academies comprise three public charter schools authorized by the McFarland School District and powered by Stride K12, Inc. (Wisconsin Virtual Academy, Insight School of Wisconsin, and Destinations Career Academy). Our mission is to provide equitable, personalized learning opportunities for students no matter where they are, who they are, or what they need. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and organized candidate for a full-time Speech and Language Pathologist position. This position was added due to growth; the selected candidate will join a team of four collaborative and highly skilled SLPs. We are looking for providers who are passionate about helping students succeed, collaborative, adept at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, innovative, solution-oriented, and excited for the unique realities of an online learning environment.
Requirements:
- Appropriate training and state licensure
- Must have experience with Augmentative/Alternative Communication (AAC) device rental, insurance paperwork, reports, and programming, as well as training students and adults on their use.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following statements describe the general nature and scope of work performed in this position. This is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities, duties, or skills required; other duties may be assigned.
- Provide speech and/or language services as delineated in students’ IEPs
- Evaluate students’ speech and language, including articulation, fluency, voice, receptive and expressive language in order to identify disorders, determine eligibility for services, and develop targeted remediation plans
- Case manage students with Speech or Language Impairments and track progress toward IEP goals and objectives
- Assess and evaluate student progress in order to make data-driven decisions regarding instruction and programming
- Provide effective teletherapy services through proficient use of technology
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success
- Effectively communicate and establish positive relationships with all stakeholders
- Demonstrate an understanding of the diverse and unique characteristics of students and families in order to provide appropriate support
- Travel to and participate in professional development, in-person school events, state testing, and other events as required
- Work with general education and special education teachers to ensure student success
- Be available to students, parents, and staff from 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday - Friday or agreed upon hours
- Work from a professional home office environment that’s conducive to clear audio/video and a structured daily schedule

- Strong organization and time management skills are essential
- Demonstrated ability to meet all deadlines per local, state, and national policies and statutes
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- In-depth understanding of learning standards and subject matter
- Able to support and guide students as well as adults
- Adept at learning and navigating multiple student information systems and other platforms
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (e.g., Office, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Other Considerations:
This position offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to: insurance (health, vision, dental), annual bonuses, and a 401K with up to a 6% match. This position does not participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). A computer, second monitor, and other supplies are provided.
