The Menominee Indian School District has a full-time paraprofessional position available for the 2024-2025 school year at the Keshena Primary School.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Paraprofessionals play a valuable role in providing services to public school students. This is especially true in special education. No Child Left Behind requires that paraprofessionals who work in Title I schools must be “highly qualified”. The highly qualified candidate for this position will have at least two years of higher education, which is equivalent to at least 48 semester hours from an accredited higher education institution or obtained an associate (or higher) degree. The ideal candidate will also have experience in working with students with disabilities and providing personal care services in addition to the proven ability to assist in teaching reading-language arts, writing and mathematics.
Candidate selected for this position will be expected to provide personal care services and instructional support to the students with a wide-range of disabilities. Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics; basic computer knowledge and office or clerical training/experience is helpful.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential job functions: provide classroom support to teachers and special needs students; may perform clerical and related support tasks to complete projects and prepare classroom materials; assist with supervision of students to provide a safe environment in which learning can take place; additional duties as assigned.
