Licensure: Candidate must be eligible for a special education program aide license from the Wisconsin Department of Instruction (DPI). Upon hire, the school district will assist you in the process of gaining this licensure.

Openings: Multiple at Elementary, Middle and High Schools
Hours: Maximum of 29 hours weekly (4 or 5 day schedule)

Work Year: 9 month position (student contact days only)


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Comfortable working daily with students at Elementary or Secondary levels, including children who demonstrate academic, intellectual, and behavioral challenges.
-Assist special education students in class or hallway, during lunch/recess, bus loading, recess, field trips and/or leisure activities as needed.
-Assist with processes and procedures, including but not limited to emergency procedures, building orientation, student vulnerability, data collection and classroom management.
-Assist students in academic areas such as reading, writing or math.
-Support licensed teachers in the implementation of a variety of behavioral management.
-Maintain a high level of fairness, confidentiality, boundaries, respect and equity for all students, staff and families.
-Perform other duties as assigned by supervising teacher(s) and administration.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Preferred candidates will have experience and training working with students with a variety of educational needs. They will be patient, kind, and appreciate the unique needs of each of our students.
