The School District of Hartford Jt. #1 is seeking a skilled and highly motivated School Psychologist to join our team at Central Middle School. We value staff who are dedicated to helping all students grow and achieve, are reflective in their practices, and focus on achieving results. The ideal candidate should have exceptional work ethic and a great sense of humor.  Candidates should be intrinsically motivated and possess a highly positive attitude. The ideal candidate will:
- Hold or be able to possess the Wisconsin license certification in School Psychologist  
- Have background and previous experience working with special education services, especially at the middle school level
- Demonstrate collaborative and problem-solving skills to work with students, staff, parents, and other outside agencies
- Be knowledgeable of how mental health issues affect student achievement
- Collaborate with staff to develop, refine, and deliver high quality services for our students
- Have experience with individual and group counseling skills with emphasis on mental health issues
- Understand the IEP process and have knowledge of compliance
- Have experience with Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (Dr. Ross Greene)
- Assist with systems change to improve learning and support services for all students in the District
- Help establish relationships with the parents and families using a variety of avenues
- Have experience leading gifted and talented/advanced learner qualification and Differentiated Education Plans
- Work with staff helping to create positive behavioral and social interventions for students
- Provide support and guidance in crisis management for students and staff
- Act as a resource to staff, students, and parents to help increase attendance, achievement, safety, as well as social-behavioral competencies of ALL students
- Be trained (or willing to be trained) in non-violent crisis intervention
- Demonstrate and utilize strong communication
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities related to a variety of topics impacting the key work of educators
- Build a positive relationship with students and families
- Be committed to continuous improvement and best practices to create a positive and safe learning environment which supports students' overall well-being and academic success
- Thrive in collaborative environments
- Foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity and maintain a positive and safe learning environment
- Guide and supervise groups of students, maintaining a positive learning environment, and foster a positive attitude towards learning

We are a community of over 16,000 with strong education, and many attractions such as the Schauer Arts Center and Recreation Center, and a variety of retail stores and restaurants. Hartford is an active community with many organizations and groups uplifting the home community feel. The HJT1 District is made up of two elementary buildings and one middle school building.
