Position Summary: The Teaching and Learning Coordinator, working under the supervision of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, having content and instructional K-12 expertise, works directly with classroom teachers, teacher teams, other staff, families, and students to support grade-level instruction and student engagement.  The coordinator supports teachers by working with them to ensure all learners work toward grade-level learning standards and the Wisconsin Career Readiness Standards to ensure implementation of the district's framework for multi-level systems of support. The primary focus of this role will be on three key areas. First, coordinating and supporting efforts across all grade levels to develop a comprehensive K-12 system that prepares students to be learning-ready, career-ready, and life-ready. Second, collaborating with teachers to guarantee that English Learners have full access to their education and that best practices for language acquisition are consistently applied in the general education classroom. Lastly, ensure that teachers are equipped to work effectively with students who have already met grade-level standards or who are identified as Talented and Gifted (TAG).

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Degree/License: 
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Master’s degree preferred   

Professional qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience (level-specific preferred)
- Current Wisconsin teaching license required. Licenses 10/5010, 316/1316, 317/5017, 395/1395, 023/1023, 014/1013/5013 & 011/5011 are desirable but not required.

Experience:
- Coaching, mentoring, and/or other teacher leadership experience.
- Instructional and lesson design practices for Inclusive, equitable, culturally responsive teaching strategies that promote student achievement, growth, and engagement
- Guaranteed & viable curriculum development / standards-based instructional design 
- Professional development for adult educators
- Blended learning and/or other forms of personalized learning
- Wisconsin Educator Effectiveness model, setting and achieving instructional goals 
- Social-Emotional Learning / Trauma-Informed Practices  
 
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Communicate with students, families, staff 
- Coordinate Talented and Gifted Program
- Coordinate ELL Program
- Coordinate and support K-12 programming for career awareness, career exploration, workforce development, and postsecondary engagement grounded in the Wisconsin Career Readiness Standards.
- Provide professional development and instructional coaching to staff around inclusive, equitable, culturally responsive teaching strategies that promote student achievement, growth, and engagement.
- Use formal and informal assessments to continually monitor and communicate student progress and performance to staff and families.
- Collaborate with the teaching and learning team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
