Rio MS/HS is seeking high-quality, engaging coaches to gain satisfaction in helping student-athletes develop and achieve their goals. Must be committed to developing responsible and accountable student-athletes. Our goal is to hire a coach that will positively motivate our student-athletes to instill commitment, discipline, and teamwork; while making the education-based athletic experience enjoyable and enriching.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 

• Take an active part in safe and structured practices.

• Apply knowledge to every athlete to develop them to their potential.  

• Understand not all athletes will compete and learn at the same level.

• Encourage, motivate, and inspire the team.

• Set individual and team goals in alignment with the program and head coach.

• Uphold all extra-curricular program standards and rules.

• Assist in completing daily or weekly practice plans.

• Professionally conduct self and demonstrate an ability to communicate with student-athletes, parents, coaches, and school leaders.

• Be an active contributor to the school culture through a passion for educational-based athletics.  

• Contribute to a positive environment by example setting, exhibiting a positive attitude, and demonstrating integrity.

• This position is a varsity assistant position and not a JV coaching position. Looking for a candidate who can support the head varsity coach in player development.
