Administrative Assistant - Business Services– Accounts Payable & Payroll Assistant
12 month position / 40 hours per week

Job Description:
Accounts payable is a member of the business services team. Responsibilities are to ensure that all legitimate payables for the district are processed in a correct and timely manner; to assist district staff with the proper procedures to obtain the goods and services they require to perform their duties; to process invoices and purchase orders; to reconcile credit card statements and prepare bank reconciliations; and to issue 1099s. This position will cross-train in other areas of business services and other district level departments. This position is the payroll backup. Additional responsibilities will vary depending on need.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Associates Degree preferred

Prior accounts payable/receivable experience, along with experience using automated financial software is highly desired. Knowledge of Wisconsin school account coding (WUFAR) is preferred.

The ideal candidate will enjoy detail-oriented work requiring a high level of accuracy. This position works closely with the human resources, payroll, and accounting functions. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently and self-driven, is essential. Good communication and public relation skills are required for success in this position, as is the ability to independently problem-solve.
Requirements:
The candidate for this position should have employment experience with fund accounting procedures, payroll and/or accounts payable, strong computer and spreadsheet skills and the ability to operate accounting software. The District uses Skyward Finance as its accounting software package.
