The Cedarburg School District seeks highly dedicated part-time Elementary Library Media and Technology Specialist beginning with the 2024-25 school year. Candidates must be skilled at making content relevant and applicable to students’ lives. Applicants must be creative and energetic while possessing the requisite knowledge and skills within the areas of library media and technology. We value individuals who inspire inquiry, collaboration and a love for reading. Position expectations include, but are not limited to:

- sharing information literacy and technology expertise by providing professional development and coaching to support to staff;
- knowledge of best practices in school library media services including the Maker-movement, ISTE Standards, future-ready libraries, and the WI Digital Learning Plan;
- assists with oversight for the school MakerSpaces and Libraries.

The specific assignment/schedule will be determined at the time of hire. Library Media Specialist (1902) licensure is preferred.

Essential Functions
- Provides leadership and expertise in the selection, acquisition, evaluation and organization of the library collection of books, information resources and technologies in all formats.
- Works with teachers and other educators to build and strengthen connections between student’s information and research needs, curricular content, learning outcomes and information resources.
- Evaluates, promotes and uses existing and emerging technologies in collaboration with teachers to support teaching and learning.
- Ensure the ongoing development, deployment and integration of digital citizenship, makerspace and library curriculum lessons into teaching and learning activities.
- Assists teachers in designing, preparing, implementing and evaluating lessons using information and technology resources for engaging and effective teaching and learning experiences for all stakeholders.
- Supports and aligns school library services with district library plan and school and district long-range strategic plans.
- Co-facilitate ongoing MakerSpace management, lesson innovation and overall support to teachers.

Candidates must be skilled at using formative assessment data to guide instruction and foster student-ownership for learning. The ability to differentiate instructional strategies to optimize learning is required. Candidates must be adept at working collaboratively with colleagues within the department/grade level, across the school and throughout the District to develop integrated and complementary approaches to meeting the individual needs of each student. Only individuals with the most positive of attitudes should apply. Preference will be given to those candidates who have demonstrated successful use and command of best practices that enable students to apply prior knowledge and historical evidence to analyze current real-world problems.
