The School District of Tigerton seeks an innovative leader to serve as 4K-12 Principal. The successful candidate will support leading the building’s efforts in creating an inclusive learning community, ensuring a safe and positive school culture, engaging in the design and implementation of our continuous improvement processes, leading professional development, conducting evaluations, and providing collaborative feedback to staff.
The Principal will be a visible instructional leader, an effective manager of student behavior and culture, and an outstanding communicator. They will focus on student achievement and a commitment to the philosophy of working with parents as full partners in the development and education of their children.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Establishes and maintains a dynamic learning climate in the school.
B. Stays current in educational research and disseminates relevant research information to staff.
C. Administers employee performance evaluation/growth processes for professional and support staff in accordance with board policy, state law, and district procedures.
D. Follows district hiring processes and hires outstanding staff who are committed to the learning of every student.
E. Follows district procedures for induction of new professional and support staff.
F. Promotes recognition of staff and student achievement.
G. Promotes employee wellness.
H. Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, observing due process for the rights of students and following established guidelines.
I. Administers a system of accounting for all monies in accordance with the district office under the supervision of the superintendent and office manager.
J. Aligns budget, in coordination with staff, to district and school goals and initiatives.
K. Assures an ongoing process of data collection to gain information that assists the board of education in determining the future needs of students.
L. Assigns duties to staff members as prescribed by general policies and regulations.
M. Makes regular inspections of the school sites and buildings and reports safety and other concerns to appropriate personnel.
N. Assumes responsibility for all official school-level correspondence, news releases, and publications.
O. Serves on committees and attends meetings as directed by the superintendent.
P. Handles, investigates, and remedies legitimate complaints and refers to the superintendent those cases that the principal cannot resolve.
Q. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the superintendent.
1) Current valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction administrative certification in the respective classification. (DPI Code 5051 – Principal)
2) Minimum of 3 years of successful experience as a teacher and demonstrated instructional leadership.
3) Expertise in change management, professional learning communities, equitable instructional practices, standards-based learning, and family engagement and community outreach.
4) Skilled in oral/written/electronic communication.
5) Knowledge of current educational research and willingness to implement and foster innovative practices.
6) Ability to build and sustain open, collaborative relationships with teachers, community, support, and administrative staff.
7) Ability to create a cohesive culture with staff and students that results in a positive and productive school climate.
