The Verona Area School District is looking for a Bilingual K-2 Language and Literacy Specialist at Sugar Creek and Glacier Edge Elementary Schools
1.0 FTE
 
The Bilingual K-2 Language and Literacy Specialist’s primary responsibility is to work collaboratively with K-2 classroom teachers to support and accelerate student learning in the school to which s/he is assigned. To meet the needs of the richly diverse VASD student population, the K-2 Language and Literacy Specialist must be committed to providing culturally and linguistically responsive instruction for students with the goal of removing predictability of success in student outcomes in literacy. The K-2 Language and Literacy Specialist will continuously monitor student data to prioritize student needs and provide instruction accordingly. The K-2 Language and Literacy Specialist may address these needs in a variety of ways including whole group, small group, or individual instruction, coaching, co-teaching, acceleration, or intervention.
 
Wisconsin DPI Regular Education and bilingual/bicultural certifications are required.

Experience: At least three years of successful classroom experience is required. 316 and/or 317 Reading Licensure certification preferred. Training or coursework around coaching practices preferred.
