Job Description:

The School District of Milton is seeking energetic individuals for a Cross-Categorical Special Education Teaching position (1.0 FTE) at Milton Middle School. This position will begin August 2024. Come join our team in educating and guiding our students to success in the future! 

 

A competitive starting salary of $48,816 is offered for a 190-day contract for individuals that have a Bachelors degree. Additional compensation is available for candidates with prior years of teaching experience in public education and additional education beyond a bachelors degree. An annual hard-to-fill stipend in the amount of $1,500 will be included with the salary offer and a competitive benefits package is also included. 

 

Qualifications:

The School District of Milton is seeking individuals who will engage students in the learning process. Candidates should be organized, flexible, have strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate services for students with disabilities in a continuum of service models. The successful candidates will be able to: demonstrate knowledge and skills regarding assessment of young children with disabilities, effective instructional techniques, positive behavioral interventions, and best practice for students with a wide range of abilities and disabilities; work collaboratively with colleagues as a positive and substantial contributor to the school and district; assume a leadership role in the implementation of district initiatives and special education service delivery. Candidates should be proficient in co-teaching and co-planning with regular education teachers.

 

Applicants should hold or be eligible for WI DPI Certification in Cross-Categorical 1801 and have the appropriate position code for ninth through twelfth grade students. Candidates holding or eligible for other DPI Special Education licenses (i.e. Learning Disabilities, Cognitive Disabilities and Emotional Behavioral Disorders) are encouraged to apply.
