Land O Lakes Elementary School is looking for a paraprofessional to work closely with the primary grade levels. The role of this paraprofessional would be to support the assigned grade level with small group instruction in reading and math. This would include the delivery of small group lessons in addition to collaboration with classroom teachers and Title I staff around instructional planning and delivery methods. The social-emotional development of students would also be considered as part of this process.


In addition to supporting the delivery of instruction during small group learning, this paraprofessional will also take on general paraprofessional duties which include before school supervision, lunch and recess duties and general support in various classrooms.  This paraprofessional will work within a Professional Learning Community and positive work environment, sharing in the collective responsibility to support students.  Relationships are at the heart of our school, with all staff getting to know students and families across the grades.  We are looking forward to having this candidate bring a love of working with children, a positive attitude, and flexibility in nature to support a variety of needs throughout the school day. 

Experience supporting students in learning, behavior, and/or social/emotional development ​

Demonstrated success of professional collaboration

Ability to establish strong connections and supportive relationships with students and staff

Flexible nature, willingness to a support a wide variety of student and classroom needs

Strong communication skills with children and adults

Successful completion or one of the abilities of one of the following:

Has obtained an associates (or higher) degree, or

Has at least two years of post-secondary education that is equivalent to at least 48 semester hours from an accredited higher education institution, or

Has experience working with children in a preschool or elementary environment, or

Demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness)
