Temporary
This is an on-call position for open teacher positions that occur on an infrequent/daily basis throughout the school year. ***Requires a minimum of an associate degree or higher outside of the teaching education field, from an accredited college or university. Applicants must be able to obtain a Wisconsin DPI "Short-Term Substitute License" (formerly Short-Term Substitute Permit).

Prerequisite: Complete https://stedi.org/wi/ online training course. Initial cost of this training is the responsibility of the applicant. To complete this training go to STEDI.org, select "Purchase Online Course", then select "SubSkills Online Training Course – Option A $39.95", add to cart, proceed to checkout, create an account listing "School District of La Crosse" as the district, and place order for the online training course. The district will reimburse 50% of the cost of the STEDI certification after successfully completing 80 hours as an independent substitute working in a teacher assignment. This certificate should be uploaded with your online DPI applications. In addition, applicants will need to present to the Human Resources Office a copy of their Stedi Sub Diploma with a passing grade of 85% or higher and receipt of course payment.
