Job Description:
The Lakeland Union High School district is seeking a full-time Science Education Education Teacher, effective with the 2024-2025 school year.
Several extra-curricular coaching and advising positions are also available including: head volleyball coach, assistant volleyball coach, head dance coach, assistant boys soccer coach, head boys swim coach, assistant boys swim coach, head student council advisor, head yearbook advisor, and head environmental club advisor.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be growth-minded and have a passion for engaging students in an intentional and active classroom environment. They must possess a thorough knowledge of content area, demonstrate a passion to educate all students, have a sincere interest in young people, be an active contributor to the school culture, own their role in the continual process of achieving greatness, possess 21st century technology skills, and have a strong desire to excel as a professional educator.
Requirements:
9-12 Science License
(Additional consideration will be given to candidates who possess other science certifications.)
Area Description:
The Lakeland Union High School District is located in Minocqua, nestled in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. The Lakeland area is noted for recreational pursuits including lakes, forests, and a range of seasonal sports, and is also known for its tourism and health facilities. The Lakeland Union High School District is one of ten union high schools in the State of Wisconsin, providing a comprehensive high school education to students in grades 9-12. It is also the largest geographical school district in the State of Wisconsin, encompassing over 800 square miles. The district is supported by four independent elementary districts and includes parts of Vilas and Oneida counties and the reservation of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians. The district is home to approximately 700 students and employs nearly 80 professional staff and 40 support staff. The district is governed by a nine-person Board of Education, which is committed to the principles of shared decision making and site-based management. LUHS has a long tradition of Board of Education, teachers and staff, parents, administration, students and community members working together to provide a quality education for all.
