JOB TITLE: High School Mathematics Teacher

CLASSIFICATION: Professional Staff

JOB OBJECTIVE: The teacher will create a positive learning environment that engages all students in learning through differentiated instruction. The teacher will prioritize social-emotional and academic learning through collaboration and participation in a Professional Learning Community.

REPORTS TO: High School Administrative Team and District Administrator

CERTIFICATIONS:

● Certified by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a Mathematics Teacher

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Essential Role Responsibilities:

● Serve as a Math Teacher in support of all learners in an inclusive classroom setting.

● Monitor students’ academic and behavioral progress through data collection and analysis to guide instructional decisions.

● Communicate proactively and effectively with other teachers and administrators.

● Collaborate with colleagues, including special education case managers and student services personnel, to provide a range of academic and social-emotional support to students in inclusive classroom settings.

● Establish effective rapport and build strong relationships with students.

● Develop positive relationships and engage in open reciprocal communication with parents and families.

● Able to design and implement lessons using the Mathematical Standards.

● Perform other duties as directed by building administration.

● Experience in teaching using differentiated instruction, cooperative learning, computer technology, and authentic assessment.

● Familiar with Response to Intervention (RtI) processes, including progress monitoring and using data to guide instruction.

● Experience working with diverse learners and supporting culturally responsive practices. ● Ability to use technology in support of learning and instruction.

● Ability to work collaboratively and productively as an active member of a teaching team. ● Experience working in student-centered teams collaboratively with colleagues in professional learning communities.

● Interest or experience in advising/coaching/co-curricular activities.
