| Altoona High School is looking for a dynamic, student-centered English teacher. The teaching assignment for this position will likely include teaching English 12, AP Literature, and Media Production. Our English department is committed to cultivating critical thinking, collaboration, and a passion for learning in our students. We value teamwork and seek someone enthusiastic about bringing innovative ideas and new opportunities to both our students and our department. As a school, we believe that all students can learn at high levels and our educators have the ability to ensure this happens. Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) are the focal point of this belief. Our PLTs work together to plan and implement the curriculum using high impact instructional strategies, monitor student progress on formative assessments, analyze student data, respond to student learning needs, and provide additional support or extend student learning. Our educators are reflective practitioners who work to make continuous improvements to ensure all students are prepared for post-secondary success.
