Full Time
Work with students who attend Howard-Suamico School District's alternative program, Captain's Academy or at Bay Port High School. Adapt and modify general education lessons and teach various subjects to students enrolled in the alternative program and who are actively employed. Build positive relationships with students and their families. Helps foster a love of learning for students and appropriately guides the learner to lead their learning.  Plans and implements specially designed instruction for students and monitors progress.  Collaborates with colleagues, paraprofessionals, and administration to best meet the needs of students.  This position is located at Captain's Academy or Bay Port High School for Grade 9-12. Start date is August 19, 2024.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Licensure and certification by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, Alternative education (1952) preferred.  Successful completion of student teaching experience. Knowledge of current educational methodology and practices.

Experience in or knowledge of: 
Viable candidates will be an active member of the school community, be able to create a positive and supportive classroom community, be organized and efficient, and to facilitate the district and school's mission. Desired experience with working with students with disabilities and a background in teaching/modifying science lessons.
