ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Administration
-Share responsibility with the administrative team in recruiting, screening, hiring, and orienting certified teaching staff and non-certified support staff.
-Assist, consult, and direct faculty in their work on curriculum improvement and course designs.
-Assist the principal in anticipating building space needs, and needs for building repair, maintenance, and remodeling.
-Oversee the development and maintenance of student records, including student schedules, transcripts, and cumulative files.
-Compile and write required reports.
-Assist in developing and maintaining effective building safety, and emergency and disaster procedures.
-Act as liaison with the middle school in planning for the transition of 8th graders to the high school.
-Develop, maintain, and communicate building procedures to staff, parents, and students.
-Assist in maintaining effective neighborhood relations.
-Assist in coordinating the school/police liaison program.
-Act “in loco parentis” in working with Social Services, the City of Mosinee Police Department, and the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department.
-Assist the principal in the administration of instructional and curricular programs for the building.
-Work with elementary and high school supervisors in improving articulation of the program between elementary, middle, and senior high schools.
-Interact with parents, staff, and students in a sensitive and timely manner.
-Coordinate and manage support staff services to departments and offices.
-In compliance with Section 118.16(2) (a) of the Wisconsin Statutes, the School Board designates that the Assistant Principal at the high school shall act as truant officer.
-Assist the principal in developing an effective school/community relations program appropriate for the high school.
-Accept responsibilities as delegated by the principal for the administration and supervision of the high school in accordance with the policies developed by the School Board.
Student Scheduling
-Direct, coordinate, and implement student orientation, registration and scheduling.
-Coordinate student records and transcripts procedures with the pupil services department.
-Manage and coordinate the School District’s alternative education program.
Student Supervision
-Supervise student conduct and assume responsibility for the enforcement of discipline as necessary, providing due process for the rights of students.
-Assist in the training and supervision of the attendance administrative assistant.
-Supervise and coordinate supervision for student lunch periods.
-Assist in supervising students on school grounds before and after school.
-Assist in managing and supervising all school dances and activities.
-Supervise, develop, and maintain student attendance records.
-Supervise health programs and practices, which are deemed necessary by the school nurse and/or other health officials.
-Participate in supervision of co-curricular activities as assigned by the activity director and principal.

-Utilize the Educator Effectiveness Process to provide evaluation and observation of staff on summary and non-summary years. This includes observation, report preparation, conferencing, assisting, and providing instructional leadership.
-Evaluate and supervise educational support staff as assigned.
